About a week ago, someone in the clubrooms posed the question “who is the oldest player in the top three Modbury Saturday Pennant sides?”
Information forwarded to me (Anonymously of course) says that the four oldest team members are 78 plus. the oldest is in fact an Octogenarian.
The average ages of each team in Round 15 was: Premier League 41.1: Division One 57.6 and Division Three 70.6.
In Round 15 :
Our Premier League side had 8 Players 35 or under.
Division One had 6 players 50 or under with 4 over 65 including our Octogenarian.
Division Three managed just 1 player under 60 and 3 players over 77. In total 9 players were over 70.
What does all this mean?
I guess what it does mean that our club needs an infusion of members under 50 years of age interested in playing pennants or larger age gaps may appear between our top and middle range sides.
